The first floor slatted ceiling is now complete.
This weekend I managed to finish off the slatted ceiling to the inner core on the first floor level. Here are a couple of process shots, as well as some finished ones. As per the last post on this, the first thing to work out was the position of the sprinkler heads and smoke detector. These photos show the section which extends into the smaller hall where there is also a light fixture (the second solid block you can see in the fourth photo).
And here is the final result! The section around the landing was particularly difficult to set out, as we have a second set of glulam posts (stained black here) forming full-height guarding to the stair area, so I had to find a rhythm that worked for both sets of posts, services like the sprinkler heads, and light fittings.
Some more views looking south along the upper floor hallway, where you can see the slats sitting as if they were suspended between the black side walls. In one of these images you can see the orange sprinkler pipework above.
