Staircase construction underway!
This week we visited Joachim King, our friend and very talented furniture maker, who is making our staircase for us with his team, to see how things have been progressing.
Here are some photos of the staircase 'in production' at his workshop. The bottom flight has a concealed drawer within each riser / step made from lacquered plywood; these photos show the steps without the drawer fronts... With a final one showing a solid oak drawer front temporarily in place.
