Breaking ground! Today we started on site…

We are really looking forward to the next few weeks as Kelsen excavate the formation for our house and pour the slab. We will be updating the blog more regularly from now on, and so to start it off are some pictures of the site without the vegetation covering by 9am!

The 13T excavator is going to make short work of the excavations, and this is where having a simple plan shape should assist us in getting 'out of the ground' more quickly than would otherwise be the case.

At the end of day one: approximately 300mm of top soil has been removed; the large dip in the centre of the site has now been filled in; a large heap of top soil has been set to one side; and the top soil has also been removed on the driveway. A productive first day!
