certification!

Yay - we have now received Passivhaus Certification!

Ostro Passivhaus in Kippen has now gained Passivhaus Certification from the Passivhaus Institute in Germany. We are extremely pleased that the house has passed the rigorous certification process and has been recognised as one of the very few buildings in Scotland (currently we are the tenth) to achieve this high standard in energy performance.

Special thanks to Will South and his team at CoCreate (our Passivhaus Certifiier) for their excellent service, guidance and knowledge. This was a real team effort with the design time to us self building on site (with obvious crossovers) but proves that with good forward planning and careful execution an extremely high quality build can be achieved!
