This month we have started staining the internal joinery!
For the last few weeks we have been focused on staining the internal joinery. As described in an earlier post we are articulating the inner cube in black, and some other areas in grey and white.
First of all we tested out some different Osmo stains… We also tried some other brands just for reference, but we always seem to come back to Osmo as it gives a really good finish and the depth of colour is great. We are using stains as we want to be able to see the wood grain once the timber is finished.
The master bedroom taking shape after it’s first coat… Still a bit more depth of colour to come, and then a top coat, but it’s a good start! Although you can start a new day’s work mid-board we decided to mask off and finish at the edge of a board to be on the safe side. We are also using Osmo self-coloured wood fillers to fill the nail / screw holes, which are great, and have a super crack resistance.
