North elevation cladding begun!
This week we stripped off the temporary membrane on the north elevation and started the pre-cladding preparations.
As usual the elevation was covered in black insect netting, and then the cladding fixed in place to the battens behind. We started at the bottom right corner (when facing from the outside) due to the angle on this elevation... Worked our way up... And arrived not far off the top left hand corner!
To keep us in line over the small first floor window we went above and below the window simultaneously, as it is really easy with such narrow boards to end up out of step over two sides of a window.
Finally we can start to see the apparent solidity of the corner of the building as the north elevation meets the west!
