This project involved the refurbishment of a 'C' Listed property in Stirling's sought after King's Park area. The works include internal renovations and a new sensitive contemporary rear extension which replaces an existing two storey extension; when previously erected it destroyed a traditional large arched window that originally lit the property's stairwell.
Internal works include the addition of a new family bathroom, home office study and upstairs shower room with the reinstatement of the original arched window over the stair. The new extension will house a modern, bright dining kitchen with direct access to the long rear garden.
The new addition is a single storey extension with zinc-cladding and a planted sedum roof. This new space also includes a corner window incorporating a seat, a large glazed sliding door and a dramatic skylight that will bathe the internal spaces in light and warmth.
The new extension element is separated from the existing building by a wrap around glazed circulation slot that gives a clear delineation between the old building and the new intervention.
